PROMOTING STUDENTS’ WELL-BEING AT GEORGE MASON UNIVERSITY
APPLICATIONS DUE ON APRIL 27, 2015
Elena Prien, a graduate of George Mason University, endowed undergraduate student scholarships with the goal of enhancing students’ well-being. These scholarships will be awarded to students whose lives can benefit from resources to support their well-being in various domains (psychological, emotional, social, purpose, community, and physical as a few examples). Each scholarship recipient will receive a one-time award of $1000 and will be assigned a well-being faculty/staff mentor to guide scholarship recipients in their journey to reach higher levels of well-being in their lives – greater meaning and purpose, resilience, vitality, and engagement. Well-being mentors will be available to meet with students in support of their learning and growth. Elena’s Scholarships are open to full-time, undergraduate students from all academic majors.
The $1000 scholarship will be made available in each recipient’s Mason student account. The scholarship funds can be used for tuition, fees, and/or room and board at George Mason University. Eligible students will be either sophomores, juniors and seniors in the 2015-16 academic year and have a minimum overall 2.0 GPA or higher.
